(D1) Edward Cecil Pennefather, born 1857 St Kilda, Melbourne, Married

Alice Paulina, daughter of Hanrahan JP of Bathurst in 1882 and died

26/9/1936 at Casino NSW. Joined the Lands Department, Sydney, as a

cadet in 1879 and went to Grafton as a staff surveyor in 1885. Afterwards he

entered private practice which he continued until his death. ECP also had a

dairy property at Naughtons Gap near Casino, NSW. His brother (D4) Hugh

Claud is known to have visited him at this address. ECP also wrote Poetry

for the Sydney DAILY MAIL under the name of “The Wanderer”. ECP and

Paulina had issue:

3. Dorothy V.M., born 1900, Cassino NSW. Sister of Mercy, Nun.

4. Nea Gwendoline, born 1892. Married Charles Clayton, children

Frank, Brian and Ethna.

? Note: There appear to be two more sons born to Edward and

Paulina while at Cassino. If so I can only assume that they died at birth.
